Maximo Implementation with Mobile & GIS Integration

What was the Challenge?

Del-Co Water is a non-profit public drinking water utility with a service area that extends into seven central Ohio counties. Del-Co operates and maintains four water treatment facilities, a network of underground piping, and a series of thirty elevated storage tanks. As Del-Co has grown, its asset management tool and processes needed to be improved to enterprise systems that provide them with more data analytics to support decision-making.

How did Barton & Loguidice provide a solution?

B&L provided asset management services for replacing legacy maintenance management software with IBM Maximo’s Enterprise Asset Management system to provide a modern configurable tool to accommodate growth and improve their asset management decisions. The Maximo implementation incorporated integrations with Del-Co’s GIS system, financial system, and utility billing software, as well as mobile applications for field workers to receive and update data on phones and iPads.

Why was the project a success?

B&L provided all services for the implementation, including business process design, configurations, interface development, testing, end-user training, and technical support. Del-Co now uses the tools and processes developed by B&L daily and is better positioned to make decisions on the data collected by all departments in the organization. The enterprise tools will support Del-Co’s growth and goals.
