Digester Permitting for Renewable Gas

What was the Challenge?

B&L has been working with Rev LNG and its utility partner SJI to provide permitting assistance to their newly developed anaerobic digester (AD) projects at dairy farms throughout the United States.

How did Barton & Loguidice provide a solution?

B&L was able to research and navigate the air regulations from each state that RevLNG was interested in exploring, and provided guidance on how to permit their projects in each state. B&L was successful in applying for and receiving the necessary air permits in every state.

Why was the project a success?

In 2021 alone, B&L assisted Rev LNG with air permitting at 22 digester project sites in New York, Connecticut, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Nebraska. The projects in Michigan, Ohio, and New York alone will produce over 1 trillion British Thermal Units (BTUs) of energy per year, which equates to keeping the lights on for 15,625 US homes, and will result in a reduction of approximately 250,000 tons of CO2 equivalents (CO2e) per year.
