What Was the Challenge?

The new M&T Bank Center, an entertainment and multi-purpose venue located adjacent to Rivers Casino, required careful environmental oversight during construction to ensure development of the site was completed properly. Construction of the new venue involved drilling, soil excavation, and soil management that required compliance with Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) regulations. Proper management of excavated materials and community air monitoring were necessary to meet the requirements of the BCP.

How did Barton & Loguidice Provide a Solution?

B&L delivered comprehensive environmental engineering services throughout construction. This included managing excavated materials in accordance with regulatory requirements, overseeing particulate monitoring to ensure dust and airborne contaminants remained within acceptable limits, and providing contractor oversight to verify adherence to BCP requirements. B&L also administered the Site management Plan to maintain compliance, document environmental conditions, and guide redevelopment activities.

Through proactive monitoring, regulatory coordination, and environmental oversight, B&L helped ensure that construction of the M&T Bank Center proceeded in compliance with environmental regulations.
