In Memory of Edwin Barton

It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of one of our founders, Edwin J. Barton. Ed was one of four engineers who joined together in April of 1961 to start their own firm, initially providing civil engineering for water and sewer projects. Thanks to their vision and determination, B&L has grown over the past 60 years into a multi-disciplined consulting firm with projects throughout the United States. After retiring, Ed spent the majority of his time in Florida.

Ed graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and served as President of B&L for many years. He was a licensed professional engineer and a land surveyor, leading the firm in delivering projects involving water supply, subdivisions, and land planning. Ed also directed several county-wide comprehensive water projects and was responsible for the general and overall fiscal management of the firm. Ed will be greatly missed.
