Our Commitments

Our People

Our People

At Barton & Loguidice we understand that our success starts with our employees. We are committed to investing in our people through our training programs, team building, cutting edge technology, corporate and community events, industry involvement and so much more. For over 60 years, the payback on these investments has been evidenced in successful project delivery for our clients, effective leadership transition, and sustainable company growth. Building on the foundation of our family core and business core values, #TeamBartonLoguidice will continue to be a leader in client satisfaction and is poised for continued success for years to come.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

We recognize that our people are our greatest asset. We strive to hire outstanding individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because we believe it’s the right thing to do, but because it makes our growing dynamic team stronger.

B&L has partnered with The PEER Group, a leading consultant in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the architecture and engineering industry. Working with their founder, Dr. Yvette E. Pearson, we have implemented their JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) program for #TeamBartonLoguidice and we stand committed to promoting and fostering a workplace where every member of our B&L family feels embraced, accepted, and included with the opportunity to succeed. We ensure that every one of our team members is treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith, or any other distinguishing characteristic. We do not tolerate any form of discrimination, harassment or other forms of inappropriate behavior.

STEM Education & Outreach

STEM Education & Outreach

At B&L, we also understand that the future of our industry is the youth of today. Our people can be found advancing efforts in youth STEM education and volunteering their time and talent to foster further interest in our industry. This also helps with promoting diversity in our industry through outreach in underserved communities where STEM programs may not be as prevalent. In addition, we financially support various industry organizations which promote scholarships and other STEM education programs including American Society of Civil Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, American Society of Landscape Architects, National Society of Black Engineers, Out to Innovate, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, Women in Transportation, and countless others.

Giving Back

Giving Back

B&L’s ongoing success comes from our people and the communities where we work, live and play. As a result, we continually strive to give back to these communities through various volunteer and charitable programs. Over the years, members of the B&L family can be found serving as peer advisors and judges for Future City Competitions, participating in Earth Day cleanups, volunteering at meal centers and food pantries, giving to our holiday fund drives, contributing to school supply drives for underserved school districts and supporting the American Heart Association, United Way, and countless other charitable campaigns. Check out some of the various volunteer and community support programs below.

Sustainability

As technical professionals, our education and training are rooted in sustainability, resiliency, and conservation. B&L is committed to conducting our business in a way that minimizes our carbon footprint, contributes to the welfare of our community, and preserves our natural resources. This holds true in our office operations, as well as the way we approach the projects we undertake. B&L’s Green Team is responsible for developing and executing sustainable practices within our own business operations. We have been recognized by the Onondaga County Resource Recovery Agency (OCRRA) with the Blue Ribbon Recycler Certification for our commitment to waste reduction, organics separation, and recycling in all of our workspaces.

OUR APPROACH

The most sustainable approach to any project is realized at the intersection of that project’s environmental, social, and financial considerations. Each of our design disciplines have unique sustainable practices that they incorporate into their designs, from incorporating innovative stormwater solutions into our site designs to encouraging active transportation in communities, to designing alternative energy facilities. We’d be happy to discuss improvements in sustainability for your project.

The addition of our Climate Action Committee has served to expand this scope by incorporating employee ideas and expertise into this line of action to help develop – and continue to develop – climate solutions for a multitude of diverse communities.

USBGC and LEED

B&L is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and has experience with the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. Our team includes LEED-accredited design professionals who are committed to the principles of sustainable design.
