B&L Expands Watertown Office

February 20, 2019

Barton & Loguidice announces a major expansion of its Watertown office, which will soon occupy the entire ground floor of the former HSBC building at 120 Washington Street. The iconic building, located just off the Public Square in Downtown Watertown, will now be known as the Barton & Loguidice Building. The name becomes official as Barton & Loguidice (B&L), a 250-employee northeast regional engineering consulting firm, expands into the newly renovated space on February 21, 2019. The expansion will accommodate planned staff growth from 12 to 24 full-time positions over the next few years.

The signage on the front of the building made its debut on January 2, 2019 changing the city streetscape and reaffirming the firm’s commitment to Watertown and the North Country. Among the many innovative elements of the space are ergonomically designed and comfortable work areas, two large multi-media conference rooms for enhanced project collaboration, informal meeting areas, and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass throughout – providing our staff and clientele with natural light and greater connectivity to the downtown community. The new space has convenient ground-level access with free public parking located immediately in front of the building and reserved client parking via the attached garage (Stone Street entrance).

“We opened the Watertown office in 2012, as a result of our work in the area for over 50 years,” said John Condino, Senior Project Manager.  “B&L had been operating out of office space on the second floor, but a steady increase in the need for our services has prompted our growth,” Condino adds.  “The best way to become a part of a community is to invest heavily in it, as we’ve done in Watertown by joining the Downtown Revitalization initiative with our newly expanded offices. This commitment has been a key factor in our success to recruit what we consider to be some of the best and brightest engineering talent in the North Country. Many of our professionals work in the same communities they grew up in and are invested in giving back and continuing to improve the area.”

“Better accommodating our North Country-based clients and staff was a key objective with opening this office back in 2012,” said Eric Pond, Senior Vice President. “Now, our staff and technical capabilities have grown to the point where we not only take the lead on North Country work, but we also tend to be the go-to office in supporting diverse and challenging projects throughout B&L’s entire service area, fueling further growth and providing incredible staff opportunity,” adds Pond.

Barton & Loguidice has developed substantial clientele in the Watertown area over the years for transportation, solid waste as well as water and wastewater engineering services. More recently B&L has provided environmental, structural, facilities and landscape architecture services to our client base in the area. The firm’s focus has always been on assisting communities with improving and expanding their critical water, sewer, solid waste and transportation infrastructure needs; most importantly, we provide guidance to navigate state and federal funding programs, which has resulted in millions of dollars in assistance for client projects throughout the North Country in the last several years.
