John F. Brusa, Jr.
John F. Brusa, Jr., P.E is President and CEO of Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C. He assumed this post in 2017 following his years as leader of the firm’s Solid Waste Practice Area. As a licensed Professional Engineer in six states, John has led engineering teams on many permitting, design and construction projects throughout the eastern United States and he continues to stay engaged with the firm’s solid waste practice area in his corporate leadership role. John is a graduate of Clarkson University as well as the American Council of Engineering Companies’ (ACEC) New York Leadership Institute.
Paul R. Czerwinski
Paul R. Czerwinski, P.E. is a Principal with the firm and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Paul has over 35 years of experience leading the firm’s Facilities and Solid Waste Practice Areas. As a licensed Professional Engineer in nine states, Paul has significant experience in project management and construction administration, and has served as manager for construction administration of wastewater, stormwater, water, and solid waste-related projects. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Richard A. Straut
Richard A. Straut, P.E. is a Principal and member of the Board of Directors since 2012. Rich has over 30 years of leadership experience in assisting municipal and industrial clients with implementation and oversight of a wide range of water supply and wastewater management challenges. Rich is B&L’s Water & Wastewater Practice Area Director, and is also the Principal in Charge of Marketing and Business Development. In addition, he manages the firm’s Albany, Newburgh, Somers and New Paltz, NY offices. He is a graduate of Clarkson University as well as the ACEC New York Leadership Institute.
Matthew J. Schooley
Matthew J. Schooley, P.E is a board member and a Principal with the firm. He has over 30 years of experience with the firm’s Transportation Practice Area, managing complex transportation projects and providing project coordination. As a licensed Professional Engineer, Matthew leads our transportation group comprised of 60 bridge and highway engineers, landscape architects, land planners, and construction personnel. He is a graduate of Syracuse University.
John A. Benson
John A. Benson, MBA is Senior Vice President of Business Development for the firm. As a former manager serving in B&L’s Environmental Practice Area, John has more than 25 years of experience assisting both public and private sectors clients with environmental projects. More recently, he has transitioned to serve as the Director of Marketing and Business Development for the firm. In this capacity, John provides management and strategic leadership for the firm’s regional outside business development staff and internal marketing staff. John is a graduate of Ithaca College, Le Moyne College, and a 2017 ACEC New York Leadership Institute Graduate.
Richard J. Maxwell
Richard J. Maxwell, CPA/ABV, CVA, CDA is Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President for the firm. Rich has more than 20 years of experience in taxation and planning for closely-held companies, and several years of overseeing financial matters for Barton & Loguidice. He is a former tax partner with a regional CPA firm and has taught a national course on business valuation and ownership transition for design firms. Rich is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, the Certified Design Accountant Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a graduate of Le Moyne College.
Andrea L. Drapeau
Andrea L. Drapeau, PHR, SHRM-CP is the firm’s Senior Human Resources Manager. She has more than ten years of experience overseeing the firm’s benefits, recruitment, and employee relations matters. Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and her MS in Human Resources from Suffolk University. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Cheryl A. Darrh
Cheryl A. Darrh, is the firm’s Corporate Controller. She has more than 12 years of experience overseeing the firm’s financial and accounting functions including billing, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable, budgeting, and other fiscal activities. Cheryl earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Le Moyne College.
