B&L’s Tim Taber, P.E., BCEE will be co-presenting along with Onondaga County Water Authority‘s (OCWA), Geoff Miller, at the AWWA/WEF Utility Management Conference on March 6, 2019 in Nashville, TN.
The presentation will be about how OCWA has provided efficient management and operation by consolidating over 20 water systems including a major wholesale supply into our operations. Each consolidation has been evaluated and treated differently: some systems required extensive repairs, others were nearly new. Each consolidation required review and evaluation of assets and employee abilities - not all were taken with each consolidation. Issues that were dealt with were debt service, different water rates, several different employee unions, numerous government entities and regulatory hurdles. The result is a very efficient, regional system that serves over 500,000 people in five counties of Central New York.
B&L’s John Donohue, P.E., LEED AP, Ted Kolankowski, Jr., R.L.A., LEED AP, and John Condino will be teaming up to present “Community Resiliency Planning - Protecting Your Community Assets” at the New York State Association of Towns’ Annual Training School in New York City on February 18, 2019.
