B&L Celebrates Women’s Day at the New York State Fair
Barton & Loguidice celebrated Women’s Day at the New York State Fair on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, with an interactive Community Building exhibit staffed primarily with our female engineers, planners, and scientists as we proudly support “Women in STEM.”
Our technical staff offered visitors an opportunity to explore how a community is developed. Adults and children used their imagination with recycled materials to build structures, parks, roads, bridges, lakes, trails, and all the facilities that are needed to run a community and placed it in our giant grid that grew over the course of the day. Visitors were also be able to watch a video of New York bridges, roads, and trails captured with our drone; and learn basic drone operations with our drone simulator, and play JENGA for fun prizes.
All of the booth activities strived to make learning fun, in hopes of sparking an interest in the technical fields as there is a growing need to cultivate more learners in science, technology, engineering and math.
