The Eastern Shore Water System is a joint project between the Towns of Richland and Sandy Creek, with the Town of Sandy Creek as the lead municipality. The Richland Water District No. 3 was formed in 2010 and the Sandy Creek Water District No. 1 was formed in 2011. The project has received funding through the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (NYSEFC) – Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF), including a 30-year loan at 0% interest. The project is currently in the design phase and the start of construction is anticipated for fall 2013. Throughout the winter and spring of 2013, B&L will be working on finishing design of the new water system. The design documents will then go out to the involved government agency’s for review. We are anticipating a late spring or early summer bid date. Easements are well under way. About half of the necessary easements have been mailed out and the remainder are being drawn up and reviewed by the town’s lawyer.
